Nicole Schyns is a Netherlands-based artist working with earth pigments and film. Her practice unfolds through a quiet dialogue between human and landscape.
By gathering and transforming natural materials from the land, she explores how memory, identity and tranquility are rooted in place.
Her work carries the raw beauty of the earth into interior spaces — inviting moments of stillness and reconnection.

Art that captures
the soul of the earth
Each painting begins with a place. A forest path, a riverbed, a hillside warmed by the sun. Nicole collects rocks and soil from these landscapes and grinds it into pigment, allowing the earth itself to become the source of colour and texture.

This ritual process transforms raw material into layered, abstract compositions that hold the memory of a place. Nicole's work does not seek to describe a landscape, but to embody it — its stillness, hues, and atmosphere.

Earth tones and organic textures create spaces of pause and reflection. On the canvas, they become quiet invitations to slow down, to observe, and to feel grounded in the present moment.
