Lying In The Meadow

When visiting France in April, I could step straight out of the gîte into a meadow full of wild flowers. A walk I looked forward to every single time. The crickets filled the air with sound, a vineyard stretched out alongside the other side of the path, and for these few precious minutes that I granted myself every day, there was space — real space — to dwell in my own thoughts and dreams without being interrupted. No other people, just the wildflowers, the sun and the quiet, soothing nature sounds. These moments filled my heart with so much gratitude and peace…

This abstract painting invites you to drift back into that stillness. The warm texture of earth pigments I gathered myself in France, combined with a frame adorned with dried flowers from the Alps, creates an artwork that makes your shoulders drop and lets you breathe again.
