The Smell Of Lavender No.II
It was April in Provence and the air was filled with the scent of wild lavender and jasmine. My husband and I were hiking in the mountains and riding through the beautiful canyons. We stopped to take a break at the river — and that's where I found them. Beautiful purple-red stones, my favourite earth pigment colour from this trip. At home I processed them into pigment powder — and so this painting came to be. What a richness of colour and texture. A gift from mother earth, straight from Provence.
